Interesting story over the weekend from The Washington Post, about the autumn release of the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 10.
Prior to mass marketplace launch, Apple is allowing anyone to beta test the software and give their feedback. As the Post notes, your typical Apple fanboy (or girl) should avoid downloading the beta to test it, because most people “don't test imperfect things for fun.”
Ahhhh…..but the members of 7CTOs are not “most people.”
We wonder if there might be some innately curious 7CTOs member with the time to take a swing through the Apple iOS 10 beta. Especially when the Post tech writer notes: “After a week with the beta, I'm confused about where Apple is heading with this update. It's...not ready for primetime unfair to fully review it. But it is... just not as good as I've come to expect from Apple.”
Considering the uneven record to date for Tim Cook as CEO since replacing the late Steve Jobs, a disappointing iOS update would not be altogether surprising, but it would be another chink in the armor of the previously unassailable Apple brand.
So if there’s any ambitious 7CTOs talent who wants us to help hook them up with the iOS 10 beta to offer insights for our organization, bring it on! We’ll help you out to the best of our ability.
