A monthly - all forum - lunch and learn style gathering.
Guest speaker: Jarrod Russell
The topic for the month: Building Community (& Empathy) Is a Public Affair
"Now more than ever, the lines between community and company are blurring. Corporate culture is simply a form of community building within a company. Conversely, socially and environmentally responsible corporations use their brands as a platform to support citizens and engage civic culture; rather than merely lobbying for their own bottom line. At the same time, impact organizations and public-private partnerships are proliferating. All the better. As division and polarization continue to dominate American politics (and dinner tables), the best cure is a healthy dose of empathy. Not only does it spark collaborative, innovative solutions and more vibrant communities, it’s also more fun. We all work in public affairs, whether we know it or not… Jarrod Russell will explore these ideas and more.
